vMix is almost always used as a destination in OmniBridge — the 3-slot vMix-shaped destination this whole system was originally built around. vMix receives routed sources as SRT inputs, and its program-out (or any of its own outputs) can be sent back to the field as a return feed.
Menu wording can shift slightly between vMix versions — the settings and values below are what matters; if a label has moved, look for the nearest equivalent (vMix has supported native SRT input/output for several versions now).
vMix never needs to know about OmniBridge's routing — it just needs 3 SRT inputs sitting and listening, ready for OmniBridge to dial into whichever one is currently routed.
12011,
12012, 12013).This is how you send vMix's own output (or any input) back out to the field, through OmniBridge, as a source's return/preview feed.
In vMix, decide what you want to send back — usually Program (vMix's live output), but it can be any input.
Add Output → SRT (this is a separate step from the 3 inputs above — vMix outputs and inputs are configured independently).
14000, fixed and shared across every SRT destination
(not overridable from the dashboard).Double-check which Output row you actually enabled SRT on. vMix lets several of its Output rows have SRT (or NDI, or OMT) turned on at the same time — for example, one row feeding a specific input to a monitor, and a separate row feeding Program. It's easy to enable SRT on the wrong one. If the row's own Source column says anything other than Output, that row is not Program — the SRT connection can look completely healthy (accepts, stays connected, no errors anywhere) while actually sending the wrong content, or in practice sending it to a row nothing downstream expects. Confirm the specific row you enabled SRT on has Source: Output before moving on.
Start that output in vMix. OmniBridge's gateway will dial in and start pulling it automatically — nothing further to configure on the vMix side.
Back in OmniBridge, route a source's return to this destination's program-out (drag the destination's header onto the source's return zone) to send this feed back to that specific field encoder.
If you're running two vMix instances (or vMix + OBS) on the same
physical box, they can't both use the shared program-out port
(14000) — it's fixed and not overridable from the dashboard. Today,
the only ways around this are:
| What | vMix side | OmniBridge side |
|---|---|---|
| Receiving a routed slot | Add Input → SRT, Mode: Listener, Port: slot port | Destination card shows the 3 slot ports; traffic stat shows next to each slot once routed |
| Sending a return/program-out | Add Output → SRT, Mode: Listener, Port: program-out port | Always 14000, fixed — not overridable |
| Passphrase set on the destination | Enter the same passphrase in vMix's SRT input/output | Check via Edit ports on the destination's card |
